WING MIRRORS

Recommended Posts

i would have thought that was the case :( - as there is now a sticky pad between the heated mirror and the new glass but hey its not a bad interim measure while i pursuade myself to go and purchase the proper items from the stealers.. as this could take time, anyway i'm sure there must be similiar heated mirrors on different cars, im gona check the scrappys out first.

couldnt you just remove the old glass from the plastic backing plate and stick the new mirror glass onto that??

the heated element on a set of corrado mirrors my mate got from the scrappy for his kit car where actually stuck to the back of the glass with a strong plastic tape and could be removed and fitted to new glass, pretty sure thats just for the old style ones though

I looked into that.. but i found two terminals fixed to the mirror glass which inturn connected to the heated system, and the glass itself is not quite the same shape. there also seemed to be some backing on the back of the original mirror glass which is proberbly vital to the whole wing mirror heating set up which obviously my mirror glass didn't have... still i'm goona investigate this further.. i'm not alltogether happy with it like this
