dinger 0 Posted January 21, 2005 I own a 1994 Corrado 2.0 16v with 63000 miles. The problem I'm having is when I go to start the car whether its hot or cold it will only turn over a couple of times for about 2 seconds and stop I then have to turn the key to the off position and try again. Before this problem reared its ugly head the engine would keep turning over until the engine started or you drained the battery{this never happened} as it would normally start without any problems. Once she has fired up she runs so sweetly and is a real pleasure to drive and returning around 34 mpg. Any thoughts guys. Thanks in advance.

Henny 0 Posted January 21, 2005 check the earth strap from the battery which then goes to the chassis under the battery and then onto the gearbox. If this has got green/white powder all over it, it's oxidised and needs replacing. Also check that both live and earth terminals are tight on the battery and starter/gearbox ends. After that, it could be that your ignition switch is starting to play up...
