JBOB 0 Posted January 26, 2005 Hi just a quick question for you as i can really find anything on the search. On my 16v how easy is it to change the alternator belt and the powersteering belt (i assume the ps belt is the smaller one next to the alt one). Do i need any special tools etc as ive changed alt belts before but the other belt is in the way and cant really see how to get it off as its always dark when i have a chance to look.... Henny 0 Posted January 27, 2005 just need a 13mm socket, spanner and ratchet... Think you may also need an 8mm (or 6mm, can never remember) allen key too so you can get the P/S pulley off if needed. It should be pretty easy to do, but be aware there's a hidden bolt on the P/S pump which may catch you out as it'll prevent you from being able to de-tension the P/S belt! It's to the right of the P/S pump brackets pivot inside the bracket with the head to the right, thread to the left (all as you look from the front of the car) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
