Bora Bora 0 Posted January 28, 2005 Just got back from work tonight in the pouring down rain and I can't switch off my lights! On inspection the two legs on the switch have snapped off.Had to disconnet front and rear lights and remove bulbs from rear no. plate. Any ideas for a temporary repair...so that I can still switch my lights on and off! Waiting on a switch......Dinkus!!!!!!!!!!
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted January 28, 2005 Pull the switch out of the dash and unplug the loom from the back of the switch? If your switch is buggered - break the little legs on the switch with hold the loom in to make it easier. Kinda easier (and, erm, more obvious!) than removing EVERY bulb... Then just plug the switch in when you need your lights on. I drove like that for 2 weeks until my new switch arrived...
h100vw 0 Posted January 28, 2005 Pulling the right fuses from the fusebox would kill everything. I would think taking the switch out would have the same effect. It's not the headlights stuck on, on their own is it? You have a few minutes to reply before I go to bed. gavin
Bora Bora 0 Posted January 28, 2005 The switch has the cover removed and is jammed in the on position
h100vw 0 Posted January 28, 2005 Just take the remains out of the dash and disconnect. Leave it hanging out till the new one shows up. Gavin
