Tom, There a black G60 lhd mk2 on the hill near me. Might be that one? gould explain the rallye ltd thing.

Quick search on Google doesn't find anything. There is a 'GTI Limited', a small bumper MKII (G60?) but never heard of a rallye monte carlo.

Small bumper 5dr 16V G60 syncro only 72 were hand built by vw motorsport. A mate of mine has one. They are sweet, the ultimate mk2 for sure.

They are called the "Golf Limited". 16v G60 syncro, 4 door car with blue trim instead of the normal red. they also have full leather and a special factory emblem on the back and inside the engine bay.

 

Yeah they only made 72 of them so they could be in the rally circut. only 30 or so are actually called for now. I have a friend who had one imported to the US. he is the only one here who has one.

Ok, I've just had a message from the guy, which kind of clears things up, but still doesn't quite justify the 'limited edition' in his ad.

 

It appears to be a slightly fettled 1.9 cam'd etc engine that has been prepared for a night rally. Still not sure where the monte carlo bit fits in either!

 

He's after £600 for it, whatever it is!

Just seems odd to me that he's selling a rally prep'd car and he has to mention that it's had new brake pads, but nothing about the engine!

 

Should go for a look just to be curious!

Dont tempt me! Im trying to cut back on my spending mate as were looking to get a new place to live. Mines probably not going to be ready for saturday but did you fancy taking a run up to Jurby anyway to see whats going on?

Is it this Saturday? Only problem is that I'm out Friday night (with a free bar as well!) and then I'd forgotten that I said I'll possibly play golf Saturday morning....
