Brando 0 Posted June 16, 2003 As stupid as this is, the Cobra 7928 reduces my insurance by 30 quid more than the Clifford Concept 300 (tesco.com). And would only cost me 300 as oposed to the 375 fitted... Has anyone got a Cobra or know of any problems with them. I know I'll get some less features, but to be honest I prolly wouldn't use half the stuff that comes with the Clifford, I don't really like to pose
Jim 2 Posted June 16, 2003 Tough to say... I find it odd that the Clifford costs you more on your insurance considering its a vanilla Thatcham 1, just like the Cobra system. To start the bidding off though.. I have a Clifford Concept 300 on my car, and its great :) The novelty of being able to arm / disarm the thing from like 60 metres away never gets boring :D The Concept 300 doesn't really come with any of the posey features as standard.. stuff like full closure, dual zone proximity, remote start and so on are all addons which you gotta pay for. cheesy 0 Posted June 17, 2003 I had Cobra on mine to start with and went throu 4 alarms before the problem was solved, cos the brain of the alarm is in the siren it was getting spiked. ( electronic pulses) moved it around the engine bay where poss but no evail. the guys where it was fitted recieved an email from cobra saying that this alarm should not be fitted to the C or Golf. got a Clifford 300 with the addons and its fantastic. Full-closure can be added to a C for free with the Concept 300. All that is required is one wire from the brain of the Clifford to the full-closure unit on the Corrado itself. You just need an installer who knows what he's doing. Luckily mine learnt how to install alarms on a Corrado :)
Jim 2 Posted June 17, 2003 Well yeah.. I should have mentioned that it can be made part of the alarm on the C because as you say, full closure is a Corrado 'feature' anyway. On my car its not though.. hehe.
