destructiv dave 0 Posted February 20, 2005 Amplifiers - Four Channel Octane-R R8.0.4 (125w x 4 @ 4ohm or 400w x 2 @4ohm) £225 link Octane-R R5.0.4 (80w x 4 @ 4ohm or 250w x 2 @4ohm) £150 link What are these two like. Does any one have either of these. I would be looking to run Focal 6.5 components up front and a Focal 11"sub in the boot. Would the R5.0.4 do my proposed setup justice or should I be looking at the R8.0.4 or possibly another amp. Any help will be gratefully appreciated, Cheers, David
Fairzy 0 Posted March 7, 2005 Personally I would lean towards the R804 - it puts out quite a bit more power. The two rear outputs being bridged to feed the sub (250w as opposed to 160w) will make a big difference. The R504 might be a little strained powering a sub and is more designed for coaxial fronts and 6x9 rears rather than a sub. Hope this helps. Check out the thread I have posted tonight - there is a special offer on until Sunday..... Mike
