kebabman 0 Posted February 20, 2005 My car has a few rattles that have got steadily worse after fitting Koni suspension  Any advice on fixing any of the following much appreciated...:) 1st cause: Sunroof seems set slightly off closed. from the outside it looks closed, but on the inside the middle is rasied slightly like the roof is about to tilt. It then rattles away until I press the button one click to open....but then it pops out of the roof slightly. The total closure alarm resets it to this wrong position everytime I lock the car and I don't know how to reset the 'home' position. 2nd: Passenger side handle seems to have lost the tension in it's return spring, so it's free to move around and rattle. Can you replace this without removing the door card? 3rd: The glovebox doesn't shut properly, the catch looks fine but you have to really slam it to make it hold, and then it's still slightly open. How hard is it to remove the glovebox? Can I just replace the door?
Rpmayne 0 Posted February 21, 2005 Open the passenger door and you should see a phillips screw above the latch mechanism. Undo that (think the drivers side is a reverse thread, passenger side is normal) and you should be able to move the handle out. Think there is a electrical connector which needs disconnecting to completely remove the handle, might need the door card off to do that.
GIXXERUK 0 Posted February 21, 2005 1st ... do a search you'll find that by pushing the sunroof inner cover back there are adjusting screws which set the closed position
Henny 0 Posted February 21, 2005 2nd - Interior or exterior handle? The interior one can't be messed with without taking the door card off... 3rd - there's a load of screws inside the glovebox by the hinges which hold the door on. There's a plastic cover which slides straight down over them and this sometimes flicks up and stops the door closing properly... Otherwise, it's possible that an alarm fitter has removed the glovebox in the past and not re-fitted it quite right... there are screws as described to adjust the door and also to remove the entire glovebox... 8)
kebabman 0 Posted February 21, 2005 Thanks for the advice, and will endevour to use the search more thoroughly next time sorry ;) It's the interior passenger handle that's rattling....so that means door card out? :(
Henny 0 Posted February 21, 2005 yup, door card off jobbie... sorry... It's not a bad job to do though... especially on the passenger door as it's only got the speaker and one window switch to deal with... 8)
GIXXERUK 0 Posted February 21, 2005 when you've done it once , you take the door card off in 10 mins, def not a big job :-) take the speaker cover off there is a screw in there and its the one that catches most people out
