Fitted a rev counter

Recommended Posts

fitted my autometer monster tacho today, but it's not working properly.

i've connected the 12v pos, neg and light to the same as my other dials and the coil one to the same as the original rev wire

symptons:

irratick idle

my shift light is like a disco, even though it's set at 6.4k

once driving it seems fine but as soon as you hit 4k the needle shoots off past 8k, now the standard gti tacho is looking fine, whats happening??

could it be my coil getting old and my vw tacho isn't as sensitive as the autometer

not trying to teach you to suck eggs or anything...

The monster tachos have a switch on them somewhere to select how many cylinders your car's engine has... Are you sure that you've got it set to 4 properly? ;)
