Aluminium grating/grille build-in in the front bumper - how?

Hi there!

 

Dont know what you brits call it - grating or grille or ??

 

But would really like if someone could tell me how to remove the numberplate and build in such one of aluminium! Need more air for my Golf G60 intercooler.

 

I've taken of the frontbumper... How do I get on? Must I cut the hole from the front side or the backside? What about the metal-thing that's carrying the bumper? I guess that needs a hole too, will it last!?

 

Here's the front bumper I hope on ending up with:

 

 

And here's what the bumper looks like from behind when the carrier hast been removed.

 

 

Hopefully someone has an idea! 8)
