H&R spring users...

Recommended Posts

Got a 94 VR6 C. "M" plate - so to use H&R springs I would need the earlier type top plate mountings - correct? Is this true just for the front coz the guy from VW reckons the rear mounts were the same for all years unlike the fronts? Can anyone give me the pt numbers for both back and front for use with H&R's. Cheers!

This is correct. The later VR6 had a smaller diamter spring plate mounting on the top of the strut. You will need to buy the bigger diameter one from earlier VR's. Sorry, no part number to hand... The rears should just go straight on.

Are you changing shocks aswell? Just as a warning, i ran H&R springs with standard shocks on my VR6 for a year. Seemed like a good idea, as i ran the same setup on my old 16v, and was well pleased with the result. Totally different on a VR though. It was very bouncy, and had little confidence when taking a corner at speed, in case i hit a bump half way through the bend.

Cheers Steve, Im actually running Koni TA's with standard springs at the moment (as when i bought the car). I've already bought the cups - the early fronts and new set of rears aswell! Would i use standard bump stops with these aswell or some people have specified MK.4 front bump stops?
