jamescorrado 0 Posted April 10, 2005 Looked at a couple of Corrados lately which were in good condition (apparently) but they had been serviced by mileage, rather than annually. Meaning that some of the services were 18 months or even over 2 years apart because in that time the cars had only done about 4k to 8k. Just wondered what peoples opinion was of cars serviced at such late intervals.
chubbybrown 0 Posted April 10, 2005 I bought a 89 G plated Corrado that had been serviced every 2,000 miles by a Vw dealer,it happened to be a directors wifes car, who else could have afforded that ! We service ours every 6 months regardless of milage, because I would say less miles and town driving increases wear and tear on some parts, so I feel Im not over servicing the car just protecting the investment. its 15 years old has F.V.W.S.H but what does it mean in the real world... Probably not much. Chubbz Makes me wonder how some cars need a service every 30k,I cant comprehend these longlife oil drains
jamescorrado 0 Posted April 10, 2005 I agree that I'd rather the cars had been serviced on the schedules, but then both of the Corrados had appeared to be wealthy mens' second or third car toys, and sometimes only done as little as 2k per year. Which would explain their low mileages. By the way, chubby, do you still have your 2k serviced C?
chubbybrown 0 Posted April 10, 2005 Yep. showing 55k now though. shes does 9 thousand miles in about 20 months
jamescorrado 0 Posted April 10, 2005 Chubby, you've got PM. And how often do you service yours with it only doing that mileage - on schedule? (I presume you didn't carry on with the 2k services!)
thorpey 0 Posted April 10, 2005 if you do the work yourself then it costs very little to service your corrado every 3000 miles
