NG 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Changed my 42mm manifold and rocker cover to a polished 50mm. But when I came to start the car it would die, So I have increased the idle stabliser, just so it would not die, The exhaust sounds like a Nova when stood still, The Car was spot on before changing the manifold and rocker cover. Baz2004 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Check that the down pipe beneath the air box is connected. I had the same problems a while ago my car wouldn’t start or run well after putting on a new manifold and I found the down pipe from the air box was not aligned/connected properly. Check your sensors also on the right side of the head you may have disconnected one of them when replacing the rocker cover which can cause this type of problem also. What yr is your 16V? I know late spec 16V corrado’s have a different bottom end to the 16V gti (besides mm size) might be worth comparing both bottom ends if you have them off again.
