Andy Brookes 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Thinking about asking for one of these as a Birthday present..... http://www.gpsinforad.co.uk/index.php anyone got one?? What do you think.
NickRStorm 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Yup, bought one the other week. I've already got a Morpheous (£400) in my Golf, so I was interested to see how they compared. So far, I have to say that the Inforad looks like a bargain & it sure does work. Likes: Made by Toad & was sold in Europe before the UK - has the European cameras in the database, so handy if going abroad. Small - really unobtrusive sitting up by the pillar External arial feed if required Easy updates (free for 1st year) via PC/intrnet - it's a USB device Can set your own warning points - good for mobile camera points etc. Can act as GPS feed for a PDA Dislikes: Less advance warning than Morpheous No indication of distance to camera Audible bleeps not loud enough Awkward power feed from fag lighter socket - I need to look at more permanent way of wiring in. ATM, it's far too easy to accidently disconnect power when going anywhere near 3rd or 5th :( Overall - buy one if you can't justify one of the cleverer ones, it's still way better than nothing!
