crazymarcel 0 Posted June 7, 2005 You wont need a new alarm if you just need a replacement for your spare remote will you? I would just look after the one that does work, if not find out who makes your alarm, i.e clifford, sigma, toad etc and go to one of there approaved dealers/fitters who should be able to sort out a spare alarm fob for a small fortune. Not wishing to sound funny, but have you tried changin the battery in it? Alarm prices range from around 300/500quid fitted
ZippyVR6 0 Posted June 7, 2005 Hiya. Sounds like a barrel of fun. The Alarm thing depends on 2 things. 1) How much do you want to spend ? 2) What have you told your insurance company? 1) up to you but I wouldn't get anything costing less than 250 smackeroos caus I love my car and dispise theiving skum. 2) if you have specified or the insurance company have requested Thatcham cat 1 then things could get pricey quickly. I went to Sextons last week for a similar reason and was quoted 420 for a fitted cat 1 alarm with closure. http://www.sextons.co.uk/Car_Audio_Cata ... &id2=18219 Have a look but Im sure other more knowledgable peeps on the forum will be able to point you to the right alarm. markievw 0 Posted June 7, 2005 the alarm is made by JR alarms yep have checked the battery. The problem is with battery connection and the battery. There are two batteries joined together with a metal strip and connected to the circuit board by a metal strip which has broke. I suppose i could try soldering it
h100vw 0 Posted June 7, 2005 Yes or ring Rust Electronics on 0161 929 7550. They are in Altrincham, I think they made those alarms some time ago. Gavin

If you are handy with a solder iron though its worth a go, as its broken anyway.
