Sorry if I sound like an ass but esentially this in wrong. If your insurance co. recover their money they will reinstate you NCD, if they dont they wont. If you report the claim as info only and ask them to close the file there should be no effect.

 

The thing to bear in mind is that all insurers do things slightly differently but if they dont pay out or recover their losses in full they should leave alone or reinstate you NCD respectively and if they dont you would have a valid ombudsman claim.
