oil pressure drops severely around turns

Recommended Posts

when I go in a straight line, the oil pressure stays fluent at about 75 psi, about 5.2 bar. the oil pressure sender is located on the side of the head. when gassing it around turns the oil pressure goes down to about 30 psi or 2 bar, I feel that something is wrong here, anyone know of anything?

Oil level in the sump could be low and the cornering is sloshing the oil away from the pickup. Is it worse in one direction over the other.

The cure is a baffled sump and windage tray from a TDI. Or, of course, more oil.

you need a sump baffle/windage tray... This is a classic sign of oil-starvation due to the oil slopping over to one side of the engine during cornering...
