Poorly G60

Hi all,

Wonder if you can help me with this one.

1993 G60 Corrado

Kicks up first time from cold however when engine is warm it will not start.

Checked plugs and they are bone dry??

 

Have changed fuse box and Ecu so far, any idea's please would be very greatful

blue temp switch

 

there are 2 switches on the water pipe from the head. 1 blue 1 black.

 

swap the plugs over so its blue to black and try again.

 

if it runs then replace the switch.

 

if that fails unplug the 02 sensor at the harness. its behind the inlet manifold under the clutch cylinder. its a 4 pin plug rectangular shape.

 

unplug and try again. if it starts and runs you have a 02 circuit problem. see other posts for testsing lamda/02 sensor

Cheers for the advise mate, will try it when I get home from work. Would that stop the delivery of fuel, causing the car not to start?

It had a brand new distributor last year, just strange as it starts no probs cold but warm it dont want to know. Think its something down to fuel system as plugs are bone dry

Had a look at the lamda plug, looks as if somebodies been messing and black wire is broke off *feck*

doubt this would stop it starting more likely to be the hall sensor in the dizzy.

if the dizzy doesnt trigger the fuel pump wont run

when it doesnt start take the plug off the dizzy, turn the ignition on and then put a small piece of wire/paper clip etc in the middle pin of the multi plug and strike it on a earth, you should hear the coil click and the fuel pump run for a second, if this happens but not when you crank its the hall sender in the dizzy

When you say it dosent start from cold what do mean ? Does it start after a few try's or does it run rough until the temp get to around 80deg ?

Have put the earth back on the lamda sensor and all seems fine now I hope, will check the hall sensor though, can never be too safe. Thanks everyone for your help
