Dry storage, preparing cars for hibernation

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to go about storing a car for a long amount of time? Thinking of taking mine off the road but don't have a garage to store it in. Any ideas on the cost of dry storage, and any precautions to keep it in the best possible condition?

After driving various cars around recently I've got used to the 'A to B car' now and not really missing the VR when I think of the running vcosts. Can't run 2 cars and keep it for the weekends because of tax / insurance etc, and can't sell just yet because I've put too much into it, so would rather store it and wait until I can afford to run it again.

look into a council garage ...try and find a nicer area nearby, mine costs under £30 a month

as for long term storage...get it jacked up with the wheels off, and maybe some fresh engine oil, make sure it washed underneath and nice n dry before you leave it

prob worth starting and running up once a month or so
