Beetlebug_2001 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Hi everyone, Im new here and im just looking for a little advice and a few answers to some questions, just sold my 72 bug and am on the look out for a corrado, Just wondering do the 1.8 16v come with interiors in different colours because ive seen a few and they all seem to have grey which i dont fancy. Did the 1.8 16v have ABS or is it possible to fit it to them as ive seen a few 1.8s advertised with ABS. What kind of things should i be looking for when buying a corrado (faults) as im not too sure what kinda things are common problems on them. Does anyone sell induction kits for the 1.8 16v, and if so does anyone know who and if they are any good. Finaly does anyone know any good insurance companys, for a 1.8 16v its gonna cost me a little over £1000 and thats on my dads insurance with maximum no claims, dont mind paying it because ive always been a vdub nut since bein a kid and ive wanted a corrado from the first day id seen one, but if i could get it cheaper that would be great, im only 20yr old no crashs claims or any of that, any help would be great, thanx :D
vr6storm 0 Posted August 7, 2003 hi and welcome to the forum right interior wise the Corrado came with a few different trim colours, though normally light-grey with darker grey "checks" and black/dk grey with green "checks" and some of course with cloth recaro interior grey with red diagonal stripes i think the 1.8 16v did have abs as an option not 100% there tho..........tbh....by that age its probably going to be more trouble than its worth due to the high costs of it as for faults then there is a few common to all corrado's not just 1.8 16v's........have a look thru the archives and i'm sure you'll find out more or what you need to look for now insurance............much as it is easier and cheaper to be on your dad's insurance this is really a false economy as A)insurance companies are wise to this and if your dad is not the main driver and you are they can void any claim you make.........believe me they will find out B)you are doing yourself no favours........if you are a named driver you do not build up any no claims yourself you only build up NCD if you are a policyholder..........and very few ins co's will give your dad full discount on more than one car......i assume your dad has his own motor
