VR6 cold start stumble

Recommended Posts

Occasionally when I start engine from cold, it stumbles and hesitates. Once it catches and fires up it runs ok.

Doesn't do this when warm or even if I immediately turn off engine and restart.

Not sure if it may be linked to this but occasionally when decelerating (coming to stop) the engine revs drop right down and nearly stall when I push clutch in.

Engine doesn't usually stall but has done a couple of times, once the dip in revs occurs the engine picks up to a steady idle.

I have cleaned my idle stabiliser valve but no real difference.

Any help ideas welcome

Cheers

Have a search as this has been covered an awful lot.

Try removing the gauze stuff from inside the ISV dampener pot (think that's what it's called!). The black breather type pot with two tubes connected to it.
