question from member morpheus20170 re. Lights

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry to ask this but I'm very new to Corrados, how do you get main beam as I think I may have a problem, when I push the button on the right of the steering wheel all the way over and have seemingly headlights I pull the stork towards the steering wheel but if anything the lights get worse, I'm confused, can you help, I also have front fogs which I never had on my Golf but it is all confusing me compared to a Mk1 Golf, btw, my C is 1.8 16v G reg.

Cheers,

Paul

The main beam should work the same as on the Golf. Pull towards you hard to click it on, lightly to flash. Pull towards you hard again to turn the main beam off.

May sound a daft question, but have you checked the bulbs and fuses? Sounds like you may be confusing main beam with dipped... :? The headlights on a C are pretty dire though... 8)

I have a problem with my lights too. Just bought two new headlights and installed them. The light emitted is practically the same as the old ones so I've invested in a loom. The main problem is that when I pull the stalk to put on the high beam, they go to high for a split second and the blue light goes on in the dash. When I release the stalk the beam goes down to somewhere between regular beam and high beam, and the blue light on the dash becomes faint, that is lighter than it was on high beam. When I pull it again it goes back to regular beam and the faint blue light goes out on the dash. I have had the stalk replaced recently with a new one and had a electrical VW stealer look at it and he can't see the problem. My question is why doesn't it stay at the original full beam when pulled as this is the proper full beam!
