Jim 2 Posted January 23, 2003 Ah the joys of remote desktop.. managed to get to my home machine and check the email. Sizes are : Front speakers in the door are 13cm or 5.25 inch. Apparently any decent tweeter will fit in the dash speaker bit. 6"x4" in the factory rear shelf supports. Hope that helps! :)

2cc 0 Posted January 23, 2003 Guys, I'm just in the middle of putting proper spks in the vr - goodbye nokia c**p. One thing to note is that the dash has 10cm apertures, so you will have to make up mounting plates for your new tweets. Also, if you are fitting cross-overs there is a convenient space behind the kick panel on the drivers side. Easier I found than trying to get em up under the dash. Unfortunately you can't use the left one on the vr coz they have fitted one of the computer units there. However, the space is available on both sides on a 16v. Don't know about the G60, you'll have to look. Also, make sure you get custom fit for the rear, some of the 6x4s on the market have large magnets that will not fit in the pods. Pioneer & Kenwood both do suitable ones but there are probably others
leew 0 Posted January 23, 2003 2CC: Will 10cm speakers fit in the dash? I was told 8cm but haven't checked. 10cm would be better if they fit.

2cc 0 Posted January 23, 2003 leew. Yes mate. 10s drop straight in and are held with 3 spring clips, so they don't have fixing lugs

Campaign 0 Posted January 25, 2003 Currently running 5.25" Mid-Bass drivers in doors, 4" Mids in dash and dome tweeters in the top of the A-Pillars. Beautiful sound. Cross-overs stuck under dash under glove-box...
