Early 1989 corrado heater controls advice

HI all

 

My heater panel light has packed in!!its the early corrado style with the sliding controls. I know the corrado unit is very expensive and volkswagon. What i need to know is what other VW's are the same??

 

Is the MK2 Golf the same??passat etc??

Same as MK2 but you can just buy the bulbs seperatly from VW (pence)

I have tried to remove the bulbs but they dont come out!! So if i bought the mk2 golf unit, it would fit straight in.
