crazy lights

Recommended Posts

dont know if this is in the right place but here goes..

my drivers side breaklight buld needed replacing on wednesday so changed it. yesterday i noticed that when braking my hazard lights are coming on instead of my breaks outside the car and also on the dash they light up when i break. another thing is that when i indicate both of the dash lights are flashing. also when i arm and disarm my alarm only the indicators down the drivers side light up.

anybody have any ideas??

cheers

You have got a short somewhere then. The place I'd check is around and underneath the airbox. The hot air feed can wear through the loom and create shorts. It happened on my mk3.

well i have sorted the indicator problem one of the brown wires had come out of the conector at the back drivers side. looks like a bunch of monkeys have messed witrh it probably when doing the alarm as all the wires are covered in insulation tape

i am now having to put new connectors onto the wires for the back lights as they are still going crazy. does anybody know if the metal connectors inside the block are avaliable to buy. went to the stealer to see if they sold new block connectors with them in but only sell the black plastic bit. also can someone tell me how many wires should go onto each terminal as i seem to have too many??

cheers
