Skunklook 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Morning fellow dubbers, Today I'll be mostly trying fit a Kenwood KDC-5080R CD Head Unit in to my mk2 golf GTI (1989)... however I don't have a clue what each of the cables is for out the back of the unit! Can anyone confirm the exact details of what each colour is/does (I know the basics but I want to get it right first time) Speaker cables (I guess, but which ones?) Purple Purple with black stripes/rings around grey grey with black stripes/rings around white white with black stripes/rings around green green with black stripes/rings around The following also go to a connector block: Solid Red (with male/female connectors before the main connector block) Solid Yellow (with male/female connectors before the main connector block) Solid black Orange with white stripes/rings around 2 x Blue with white stripes around (I'm guessing to 'remote' power the two auxiliary amps/other as there are two sets of RCA connections?) The following do not go to the main connector block: Black with pink stripes/rings round (labelled "EXT. CONT") Solid Brown Any help would be really appreciated as I am off to do it very soon and I can't find a list/diagram on the net! gibber 0 Posted January 7, 2006 If I remember right this is the iso plug colours: Battery +12 volt: Yellow or Red Illumination: Orange Ignition +12 volt: Red Electric Aerial: Blue grey is front right green is front left white is back right purple is back left Phone Mute: Purple And this is the VOLKSWAGEN colours: P o w e r Memory (+12v Constant) Red Ignition (+12v Switched) Black (not available in older models) Ground (-) Brown Illumination Gray or Gray/Blue Dimmer (none) Power Antenna White S p e a k e r s Right Front (+) Red Right Front (-) Brown/White Left Front (+) Blue Left Front (-) Brown/Blue Right Rear (+) Red/Green Right Rear (-) Brown/Black Left Rear (+) Blue/Green Left Rear (-) Brown/Red Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Skunklook 0 Posted January 7, 2006 Cheers Gibber that narrows things down lots! I now just need to know what the "EXT. CONT" / Solid Brown / Orange with white rings are?!
