Trim screws

Recommended Posts

I ahve been looking closly at my C and it appears that it had some ICE installed, at least and amp, which was screwed to the back of the rear seats, quite neatly i must say, bu i have noticed that some of the moulding have the wrong screws holding them together, obviously the guy who took the ICE out didn't have the right screws left when he was putting the interior trim back. There are also a few other screws missing from in and arround the car (2 that hold the trim under the glove box for example)

Any ideas where i can pick up the different screws, if i go to the stealership will they have to order them in and will i have to order a bag of 20 at £! each

I want my C to be perfect and i wonder how somone can live with putting the wrong screws back to hold the trim on.

Cheers for and help

Beavis

Find a local scrap yard with a few VWs in it and go raiding with your screwdriver! :D

Pretty much all of the trim screws are the same throughout the VW range, it's just a case of matching them up with the correct ones that are already in your car... 8)

I'm surprised (well not really) that the dealers said that. I've constantly annoyed my local dealer with very small orders, some of which have been single item trim screws, usually costing pennys...

Perhaps you could go to another dealers?

Yeah, most of the screws are the same as the ones out of the mk2 dash so its worth getting some spares from a breakers but VW dealers will sell them off the shelf in any quantity, there 7-10p each...
