PoorMansPorsche 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Ive brought some replica "speeds" and my local recaro dealer has been in touch with recaro in germany about getting some subframes - recaro do list them but they wont send them out because they say that the seats wont fit due to the ole favorite the height of speeds But they do say that they will fit on the lowest subframe height setting but not highest height setting (apparently there are 3 settings) but they dont sound overly sure !! So has anyone ever brought official recaro frames and know what the differences in height the different settings make because i really just want to say send them out on my head be it etc cheers Harumpthhhhhhhhhhhh
audimadmike 0 Posted January 22, 2006 If of any help....I've got a recaro seat that I originally bought for a Citroen Berlingo, I then (with new subframe) fitted it to my Audi 80 and now to my S2 coupe. The subframe has 3 heights seperate from the height adjustment on the seat, so can be mounted low, however the Corrado is extra low but I beleive it would be ok on the lowest setting, anyway the steering wheel adjusts for height. My Recaro is a taller seat than original seats so is closer to the roof but only by a couple of inches. Mike
PoorMansPorsche 0 Posted January 22, 2006 cheers, i didnt really know what they were going on about - i take it the 3 height adjustments are only dooable when the seat is out? Ive rested the seat on the floor with the original runners on (which will have to come off to fit the new subframe) and there is about 6 inches clearance and the runners must be in inch thick - so do you think that the frame is more that 7 inches high? audimadmike 0 Posted January 22, 2006 I think the frame may be the same as mine which fits Audi 80 saloon, S2 coupe, Golf mk2 which have the same fittings as the Corrado. Where the centre slide/runner fits into the front fixing with the little nut/bolt the Recaro frame has 3 holes in it, you fit the bolt through the one that suits your height requirements. Probably about 1 1/2" adjustment. It won't alter the rear height. Its now 11pm and I'm not going out to measure right now but I think its about 5" high. I can measure tomorrow eve if you want to know.
