Windscreen seal leak - break or fix?

Hi Guys

 

Just wondering what was the best option for this.

I purchased a E36 328i Sport a couple of Months ago and it came with a 1 year warranty. I noticed water dripping in a couple of days at the top of the windscreen, checked behind the roof fabric and it was dripping slightly, after checking a bit further there was a few inches missing the bonding sealant. This was done through Autoglass after looking through the mountains of receipts.

 

Shall I

 

A) Crack the screen, phone the insurance and use my £50 excess for another Autoglass attempt and watch them while they do it?

 

B) Pay someone to redo the windscreen?

 

C) See if this might be covered under warranty?

I'm not opting for this choice straight away because it was such a hastle getting a new caliper sorted when I first picked it up

Crack it

 

A new screen makes an unbelieveable difference when driving in the sun

 

and if it leaks again you'll be coved by autoglass

i have the same problem on my C, dripping over the drivers seat, not nice to sit on!

The windscreen I have is quite new, not a scratch on it.

I have called up Admiral (my insurers) and my windscreen cover is with RAC auto windscreens who will hopefully be doing it on Wednesday next week.

 

I'm unsure if I should break it just before they come over or see if they want to try and reseal it first?

I'll probably get a hammer and just tap it infront of the drivers side

 

I haven't paid for anything yet so can always cancel this if any other ideas
