Auto boxes ?? are mk3 and mk2 the same boxes?

Hello guys

 

Ive got a mate with a mk3 GL with a prob on his box even thou its been serived still clunks once in a while and holds on to gears

 

weve been given loads of reason what it coudl be but nothing specific

 

anyhow ive seen a few mkII auto boxes on 1.8's and wandering if they are the same units?

Nope - there are loads of different ones, you need to look his chassis up on ETKA really then ATP the part number...

 

What does VAGCOM say?

and sadly dont have Vag com one of those never really went out and got

I had a 1.8 MK 2 GL Golf Auto. Only 3 speeds. Isn't the Mk 3 a 4 speed box??
