Deanso 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Hi guys,My passenger door is closed an the pin won't rise so the lock won't release the handle. This happened at xmas there, so I bought new handle repairs off dave16v. I was about to replace them when it started working again so i didn't bother. It seems to be the same thing as before. If i turn the key in the door it tries to go up and i can even hold it 2/3s up if i pull on it at the same time.Local vag said it's 3wks before they can look at it!! Has anyone ever had this prob.(girlfriend is wreckin seat!!) please help
Bojmobile 0 Posted February 25, 2006 probably an electrical fault with the vacuum release mechanism mate - mine did this intermittantly in the past. Got an auto-sparky to fix it for £20.
VR6 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Use the search, it has been covered quite a few times before.
Deanso 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Yeh that could well be it mate. You don't know what he did do you? What i mean is, did he replace anything or just repair it?
Bojmobile 0 Posted February 26, 2006 He just removed the door card - which can be a nightmare if you can't open the door - so try a few times to open it - mine worked occasionally. I remember him looking at the black hose part - in the door hinge and I think he just used WD40 to lubricate the mechanism. As VR6 says though - I'm sure you can find more info on the search. Hope that vague account helps!
