Recommended Posts

My valver Starts fine but when cold it stutters and judders at low revs whilst driving .All is fine as soon as it is warmed up .

Is this over fuelling as my car tends to drink a lot of juice aswell. Any pointers as to what it may be?

And yes I have used the search ..........

2.0 according to the thread title.

What do you call a lot of juice? My 1.8 16v barely tops 30mpg and it's running fine. I call THAT a lot of juice!

I get about 280 out of a tank with mainly motorway miles !

check water temp sensor on head. Worked for me! I had similar symptoms too......

Is this the sensor with one wire or the four wire one ?

P.S. 2 litre

Yep, that was the pic I posted multiple times recently.

280 miles per tank isn't far off for a 12 gallon tank, but yours should have the 15 gallon tank.

I don't believe that the temp. switch could affect the fuel consumption to that degree though. Heavy fuel consumption is usually related to a dodgy Lambda probe or wiring, but that also (usually) results in poor running when warm.

seems to be a common problem on the 16v's! wish i'd got a g60 now (or do I.....?)

The 1.8 16v is the only Corrado I'd own as it's the simplest.

Thx for info Jimmy !!

I will change this sensor as a matter of course.

bcstudent I have recently replaced leads, lambda, fuel&oil filter, dizzy cap,air filter, and none has made any difference.

It is so annoying when you don`t know what it is.... aaaaaarrg

The car runs really well if anything a bit faster and pulls better early on in the rev range. It may be timing or fuel delivery valve or injector related or something beyond my means to investigate........

I think I might have to book it into Stealth for a health check-up.

P.S. Yes it is 15 gallon tank

No worries M8! Actually, it was vince at stealth that identified that the sensor was playing up when my car went in for a service, just plugged the good old VAG-COM in!
