Corrado 16v fuel pump and Golf Mk2 16v fuel pump....

Hi,

 

Not quite "under the bonnet", but still engine related.

 

I'm trying to settle a discussion, where I'm saying a Corrado 16v main fuel pump (housing, filter mounting, assembly to chassis mounting points) is identical to a Golf MK2 16v fuel pump, and a friend disagrees.

 

Do you know who is correct?

i heard some are different. i heard the early ones have higher flow. not sure of the truth in it. maybe better having the correct one for k-jet but if using efi any will be better than just the intank.

The pump is the same but I believe the housing is different to that of the Mk2. I went through all this before when the fuel pump housing on my Corrado sprung a leak. In the end I modified an early Mk2 8v GTI housing to fit with the intention of getting the proper housing later. That never happened though...
