Recommended Posts

Can somone please tell me how non OE bumpers are fitted to the bumper bar. I have one to go on but after spraying would like to give it a go my self rather than pay somone to do whatis for the most part a simple enough job.

You attach the bumper ironwork and the side clips to the RS bumper, John mitchell (JMR) did mine. Henny has done it !! as has other people as well. The RS bumper is best used to mount a front mounted intercooler in.

Sorry are you saying the inner skin of the OE bumper with the clips on comes out and I can bond that to the new bumper?

Also the fogs and indicators dont quite fit in the recesses in the RS bumper, any ideas??

No the clips don't come on the RS Bumper.

Depending on what your bumper is made of depends on how you would attach it. Mine is a GPC Plastic made RS4 bumper. It's attached using Sikoflex adhesive

Yep Blue joe is right Siikoflex was what john used, You remove the ironwork mounting point from your old bumper then remove the plastic panel from the inside of the bumper skin and attach it using Sikoflex. John had to widen the recess holes for the fogs and indicators on mine and then grafted in the standard brackets.

Your lucky Blue Joe mine took at least an hour to get the inner panel away from the skin.
