MNuTz 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Lo all, Ive tried everywhere to get the answer to this question but no one has been able to help me. I know its not a Corrado question but im hoping one of you boffins can help! I have a 1.4 mk3 golf that needs a new gear box before i can sell it. Well VW want £800+ which is more than the cars worth so ive found a refurb'd one for £100. Problem is they need a gearbox code, and me being about as mechanically minded as a spaniel has no idea where to look! Ive been told to check the owners manual (which i havent got) or the haynes manual (which i cant find since i moved). Can anyone tell me where i can find it, how i can figure it out or if it should be on the actual gearbox and what should the code look like?
