alternator pulley on 1.8 16v

hi all just wondering is some one cane help.the two pulleys at the bottom of a 1.8 16v engine the small one on the outside for the power steering pump and the bigger inside one for the alternator, well should the bigger one turn freely from the p/s pump :roll:

If you're asking whether one of the pulleys on the water pump should be an idler pulley, then 'yes'. Is that what you were asking?! The later 1.8 16v engines and all 2.0 16v engines used a two-pulley power-steering system, which did away with the idler pulley on the water pump, and drove the power-steering pump directly from the crank pulley.
