adambob 0 Posted May 8, 2006 ....after much deliberation, I went for the 12v rebuild. £2200 later and she's finally back on the road and i'm amazed at how smooth she feels. It really is like driving a new motor. I'm wearing it in at the moment so i can't really determine any power gains / losses. The BMC is going on in a few weeks as well once I've done over a thousand miles. I can't compare my rebuild to a 24v conversion but I'm more than happy that it's still stock and more importantly still produces that VR6 growl :D
Supercharged 2 Posted May 8, 2006 Cool - who did the rebuild?
adambob 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Dubsport. Labour charges came in at around £800 - does this seem reasonable? She needed a few other bits including a new alternator, exhaust manny, front tyre, cv joint. It still suffers from the old chestnut that is the VR6 stalling at a junction... I'm taking it back after 500 miles for a check over and they reckon they'll sort it then.... I ain't convinced.
