16v distributor

I have a mate who has just dropped a 16v into his mk1

i know there is a vacume advance dizzy that can be used to avoid haveing to run the full 16v loom with it

Anyone knwo which model it is from?

its only about 4 wires to run the ecu and its so simple so why bother,you would never get the right advance curve without the 16v dizzy.Ive just put a 16v into a rocco

he is running ti off the original mk1 engine loom and the only thing not working is the dizzy its not giving full power.

I think its supposed to be a 1.3 mk2 or something but i cant remember

The 1.05 and 1.3L polo and golf engines had a vacuum advance and some have weights and points inside the distributor before the electronic ignition version came out in about '86 (which still uses vac advance), these are fitted on the side of the head like the 16v engines. I've no idea if one would fit but I doubt if you get anything like the right advance curve you'd really want for a 16v.
