Cleaning my Engine!!! Whats best to use

Now the oil leak has been rectified.... :D Whats the best thing to use to get the whole engine looking like new...

 

Some one suggested good old fansion'd engine Gunk....

Gunk!!!!!!

 

Just make sure you cover your Distributor and any other vital electrical components

Don't use Gunk!!! - it's awful stuff and stinks..

 

Use the turtlewax or autoglm stuff that Halfords sell

Steve - I've seen the state of the engine, it's half a cm deep in about a year or so's caked on oil. I would have thought the only thing to shift all that would be gunk. It may be potent and smell - but it does the job!!!

I used autoglym engine degreaser and it came up a treat after my oil cooler pipe spewed oil everywhere. Covered the obvious and used my pressure washer but only on trickle setting. Picture was actually a week after but you get the idea.
