temperature regulator slides

Recommended Posts

I do apologise as iv already posted this problem somewhere before, I just don't remember where or what I posted it as.

Anyway, my G60's temperature controls (sliding controls) has a Bug*ered bulb, I think, and will not light up when I put my lights on like the rest of the dash does.

I was advised to try VW, so I did and they quoted me £30 for the tiny new stereo facia sized panel, which is discontinued and which they only have one left in the whole of Renfrewshire.

If I have to pay this amount I will, but does anyone who has maybe switched to twisty dials or changed their dash configuration got a spare sliding panel they would like to sell me.

Regards

I think the sliders are the same as in a golf.

If so and IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY you can just replace a bulb. The sliders will just come out with a bit of a tug, prise off the fan speed knob and then that bit of the facia will come off with a little persuasion. Remember to disconnect the wires to the fan before you remove it completely.

You should see a little black bulb holder, just give it a twist and it will come off. Bulb cost a couple of quid max.

I didnt know what to do, tried for hours to get that blasted bulb out with no luck so just spent £33 this morning in replacing the whole temperature facia part.

Bit excessive, but hey it works now.

I dont mind spending the extra cash, my baby deserves it!!!
