rear spoiler not working

yes sometimes it blows when i use the switch

 

yes i have changed the radio but when i bought the car the spoiler was unpluged so there was a fault already there i think

 

when it did function it come up in stages rather than one smooth motion

i`ve tried grease but now it does not work at all

any suggestions?????

Do you have any electrical skills?

i would try to hotwire the spoiler motor to see if it moves ok and watch for current comsumption.

If the fuse is blowing i guess there should be any short-circuit or even the spoiler module is KO.

I've got a similar problem where it works off the switch (goes up fine, comes down v slow) but not automatically. Had 2 different stereos in but still the same? Sorry for the hijak!

i had exactly the same problem, i changed relay/switch, in the end got a 2nd hand spoiler unit for a tenner, and it works 100% now. i took the motor apart in the old unit, and found out the bush's in the old unit were really badly corroded.
