Kick Up The Rs 0 Posted June 30, 2006 I've recently become a bit dis-illusioned with my C and in particular the quality of some of the repainting done at some stage in the past. Anyway, the problems centred around poor laquer in that there are a few runs just above the bump strips and some dust trapped between the base coat and the laquer one 3 or so panels. So, feeling really fed-up I paid a visit to my local classic car dealer / restorer on my way home to get a quote for some remedial work. However, instead of him quoting me some horific figure, he went into his workshop came back withe some 1500 wet & dry, soapy water, G3 and G10 polish. In 15 mins he had totally removed one of the runs and removed some imperfections in the paint by flatting & polishing. Bloody amazing. Bouyed by this magic, I now love my C again and I'm off to my local paint specialist to get some wet and dry & polish. Does anybody have any tips that I should be aware of before flatting other areas of my paint. It was all a bit too much to take in in such a short time! Ta in advance. Oh yes, what a refreshing change to be helped in this way and all free-of charge.
