faulty coolant/air intake temp reading

Recommended Posts

93 Volk Corrado VR6- Car broke down on me a month ago and i still can't figure it out. I ran a vag diagnostic on it and it shows no error messages. However, it shows my air intake temp. at -9 degrees Celsius and my coolant temp. at -49 degrees celsius. I replaced both sensors and its still not right. Oddly the water temp. reading changed to a slightly warmer temp. but still below freezing. I live in Florida and its summer and its hot so temp. reading is way way off. It refuses to start when everything is connected. If i disconnect both sensors giving me the faulty readings it will start but run/idle very poorly and shortly thereafter stall. I wouldn't make it a mile down the road. I've had the car 8 years and never had any issues with this type of thing before. I'm at the end of the road and hoping for some advice before i lose my mind.

Thank you. It's nice to see a good active corrado forum.

Engine and ecu earths? I'm not familiar with that if you could explain to me what and how to do.
