PIC 16F84 + 24CXX Simple E-Eprom programmer

Recommended Posts

Could I use one of these to backup the chip from my ECU?

My ECU is 021906258CP, been told its a late ECU with immobiliser. The chip is soldered to the board on it. I want to supercharge my VR6.

Also wondering if I got an ECU from say an older VR6 coilpack, ie 93/94 would it have the plug slot for the ECU chip and then say use that ECU in my C. Can the older ECU be coded to my car, I have a VW mechanic with all the kit but I've been told the older Corrados do not have an immobilser. Will this cause a problem?

On G60´s ECU you can only find EPROM 27C256 (UV Erasable), which are not compatible with that programmer.

I don´t know about VR6´s ECU...
