Electric Windows safety mechanism?

Recommended Posts

Quick question: does the passenger side electric window mechanism have a safety feature that stops the window raising with one press of the button? Or is mine broken? The reason I ask is that since owning the car the full closure alarm has never fully closed, it starts then stops closing everything nearly straight away.

Thanks for your help.

ive noticed also on my 91 G60, when just using the button to put the pass window up (not using alarm), i have to hold the button for it to close. Down is ok, but up i have to hold the button.

Is this easy to change? Is it a case of replacing the relay or switch for the passenger side or more complicated? Thanks

I thought that the alarm would use the one press window motor relay to close the windows but your saying this is not the case. I will get the alarm checked out. Thanks for your help.

the one touch only works on the down on the passenger side. it goes up and down with 1 touch on the drivers side. not sure how its controlled as i havent looked into it. i would say that your alarm is not sending a long enough pulse to the passenger side
