Side Indicators

I know that if your car has been made after a certain year it needs to have amber side indicators but the question i need to have answered is:

 

Are there any other rules about them, ie where they must be positioned what angle the light should be seen , the speed they flash at etc etc

blackcat, now thats a usefull response.

 

The actual rate of the flashing isnt a great importance, the thing im trying to find out is the angle at which the lights from side indicators must be visible at.

But those links dont say anything so i asume as long as you can see flashing when looking straight at them then its legal, what you think

for a mot they have to be on the side of the car and flash at the same time as the rest. there are no angles to check

I think you may be able to delete the side repeaters if the front ones can be seen from the side, that's always been my understanding anyhow, or if you fit door mirror ones a la Mercs etc.

cool thanks guys, the reason i ask is i have an idea for side indicators that may and may not work.

will post the results up once ive attempted it
