Ignition switch

Tried to look it up but just to make sure when i turn the key nothing hppens but all the elecs work fine so not battery, dont think its the starter either so it should be the switch, also i should be getting the 2l 16v switch even tho its running a 20vt, or is if different because of different ecu?....

It could be many things. Can you put up a picture of the top of the starter. Make sure the picture shows the wires going up to it.

What is it actually doing - nothing at all??

 

Check battery voltage first then unplug red/black wire going to starter solenoid and check for 12V when key is turned...

 

Ignition switch will be just a standard Corrado one (Polo 6N part)

 

Have you got an alarm / imobiliser?

Nothing at all, yea its got a concept 300but im sure its not that, it wont be the battery because you get a warning from your alarm when its nearly dead

I just bought the standard switch and im fittng it tommorow ill keeep ya posted...

getting a new switch tonight, how easy was it. instructions seem good but how was it for you?

Well slats out it this way i havent got any dash anymore, na the difficult bit is just getting the screw out that holds the switch in, if you take off the top of the steering cover it makes just a tiny bit easier......but like every1 says persivere
