VR6 Sump Prices

Anyone know how much for a new sump from the dealers and new sealing ring????LAbour to fit no more than 1/2 hour I'd say...looking to get the sump changed at the next VW service which is due next week :lol:

The gasket on its own is about £30+vat, I priced it last week. Also got a price from ford for the galaxy vr6's version but it was more expensive.

The Gasket is less than £20 plus vat but they may have included new bolts in the quote...

 

The VR sump is alot cheaper than the 4cyl ones, hence I got a Shrick!

I brought one through my mate at VW, and the Sump pan & gasket came to £70, i think it was about £18 ish for the gasket. I know the patent pans are usually about £40.

Dealer aksing for £120 to fit new sump and gasket when carrying out the service so seems not too bad......Thoughts

sounds right............£60 in bits and £60 labour(so 1 hour)

Could be, do the bolts generally need changed on replacement of the sump?

Also, should I use any sealer when fitting or just make sure the gasket and surfaces are cleaned up?

Guess what lucky I checked they said teh £120 was for parts would take 3 hours to fit so the bill would be £300.........You can guess were I told them to go!!!!!
