heater control swap

when i slide my heater control onto the screen setting, it slides back as if it's posessed! is this a common problem?

 

here's hoping for an easy fix that doesn't mean taking the dash out!

sounds like a cable has come out of the clip that holds the sleeve in, so your moving the whole thing, not actually moving the wire inside the sleeve which needs to be captive.

 

cant be sure though, as mines the later type, but sounds same symptoms i had

best pull it apart then... groan... ;)
