Disconnecting engine harness plug on a VR6

Been working on my Corrado all day today but i need a bit of advice on a couple of things, before i can pull the lump out.

The main engine harness plug that is mounted just behind the coilpack, how do you disconnect it ?? ive had the motor out before but one of the lads who worked for me unplugged it, he isnt around now so do any of you guys know how to do it ? I dont want to damage it.

Hello

The main plug has a locking ring in the middle of the grippy outer cover that rotates but the rest of the plug stays still. As you turn this ring the plug should move away from the engine on its own and as you look at it from the battery side it spins anti clockwise. Hope this makes sense and helps.
